What are stock photos?

Photo stocks (or photo banks) are services where photographers, videographers and illustrators sell their work to designers, webmasters, magazine editors, advertising agencies and other commercial organizations.
There are many photo stocks on the market of different quality, level, price segment and approach to work in general.
I work with photostock westend61. This is one of the world’s leading premium agencies. They don’t hire just anyone, I tried to get into them for a whole year and after repeated attempts I received a contract for 5 years.

Photos purchased from stocks can be used for various purposes: in advertising, on billboards, in newspapers and magazines, in printed materials, product packaging and much more where visual accompaniment is present.

You can also get a photo shoot for free and use the photos for personal purposes. All you need to do is sign a model release.
